The University of Gävle focuses on interdisciplinary research in four strategic areas: Sustainable Urban Development, Health-Promoting Work, Innovative Learning, and Intelligent Industry. Through this research, the university aims to address the various challenges our society faces.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Gävle Scholarship for African Students in International Social Work, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of a country in Africa.
- Field of Interest: Applicants should demonstrate an interest in International Social Work, Development Studies, Eco-social Work, or Green Social Work.
- Priority Ranking: The Bachelor of Science in Social Work – Specialization International Social Work program should be ranked as the first priority at universityadmissions.se.
- Application: Applicants must apply to the program before the specified deadline at universityadmissions.se and pay the application fee. They should also submit the required supporting documents on time.
- Admission: Applicants must be admitted to a master’s degree program at the University of Gävle.
- Academic Merit: Selection will be based on academic excellence.
- Additional Factors: Other factors such as community service, leadership qualities, and motivation levels will also be considered.
- Enrollment: Students must be enrolled full time in the Honours program for the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.
- Personal Success Skills: Exceptional personal skills, including emotional maturity, motivation, and perseverance, will be taken into account.
- High School Transcript: Applicants should provide a high school transcript and/or GSE results. If the transcript is not in English, a certified translation is required.
- Educational Background: Applicants must have a high school certificate or equivalent.
