Nigerian superstar singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has hit a new international milestone with his groundbreaking song titled Essence.
Wizkid song which features sonorous singer, Tems has been certified Gold in the United States.
Wizkid song follows Davido’s ‘Fall’ and ‘Ye’ by Burna Boy as the third Nigerian song to get a gold certification in less than 18 months.
On September 2, 2021, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), announced that the chart topping track has gone Gold in the US.
A Gold certification is issued by RIAA when a song or an album moves units to the equivalent of 500,000 copies – inclusive of both streaming equivalent and physical sales.
